Our Beginnings
EU Ltd was established as Exhausts Unlimited in 1982 as a bespoke exhaust distributor operating from a 3500 sq ft warehouse in Fifers Lane, Norwich.
From this location, using just two Renault Trafics and a Mini van we offered a daily delivery to fitting stations and garages throughout Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire.
This frequency at the time was a revelation to the trade who had been used to weekly deliveries or twice a week at best, 25 years on hourly delivery is now considered the industry standard.
We were one of the first automotive parts distributors to utilise computers, introducing an EGO system in late 1982, this revolutionised our telesales, stock control and accounting systems and proved to be an inspired decision - a great advancement on hand written invoices and the Cardex stock system.
As sales volumes increased we moved to our present Head Office location, a 10000 sq ft warehouse in Arminghall Close, Norwich
More Than Exhausts
In 1987 an opportunity presented itself to purchase a general parts distributor located in Colchester called Prime Motor Factors.
They were selling a wider range of components and this was the beginning of EU's relationship with Motaquip. Shortly after the purchase the Motaquip range of Filtration, Braking, Clutch, Steering and Suspension, Oils and Chemicals and Electrics was introduced at Norwich.
As service expectations became increasingly higher the next decade saw EU embark on an expansion trail that strengthened our position as the No. 1 parts distributor in East Anglia.

In 2001, we acquired a similar operation based in Lincolnshire, Linco plc. Linco have depots in Boston, Splading, Lincoln, Grantham, Horncastle and Melton Mowbray.
Our Future
After our first 25 years in business, we look forward to the next 25 years, who knows what the technological advances of the future will bring - hydrogen filters, replacement solar panels, sewage converters, home energy reactors??
